that's good for them, but they are still running the risk of feature bloating. You need a lot of time and effort to implement features NG+ and Nightmare mode, at least if you want to implement them well.
The online features are another can of worms, they'll just take time away from the development of the core game while arguably not adding much to it.
The merchandise is the biggest problem, though. artbooks, that framed laser cut, and especially the t-shirts may not be that expensive on their own (and that's debatable), but the shipping costs will be torture for their budget.
They're either going to run out of money to complete the project or deliver the backer rewards, or they won't be able to finish the game on time. I hope everything goes well since I like the idea, but I've seen plenty of kickstarted games fail because of similar reasons, so I don't have high hopes for this.

I'd say the combat doesn't look very interesting at this point, seems to be alot of emphasis on executions which is lame and will just slow down gameplay

My suggestion to the dev would be to incorporate them into the gameplay more (make them drop health or other rewards like DOOM 2016 does) and speed them up like 2 or 3 times, because playing a platformer that would be constantly interrupted by these will only create a disjointed and awkward experience
