That's not what I"m getting. I really like gyro aiming, but it's not quite the same as wiimote aiming. With Wiimote aiming, you just aim to the edge of the screen to turn your character and then move the cursor back towards the center to stop and stay facing that direction.
Gyro aiming on the other hand has no screen boundary. The movement is supposed to be 1:1, so your camera view should be facing in the same direction as which the controller is pointing at. Going back to your original position of forward brings the view back to where it originally was instead of stopping the turning. Of course there are levels of sensitivity so you don't turn as much or turn more, but your original position is still locked. This isn't a problem in thrid person games such as Zelda or Splatoon because you can recenter the camera behind the direction your character is facing as moved by the left analog stick. In a first person game, this set up does not function because your view is always the direction the character is facing in. You cannot have a recenter button thus you will either need to turn using the right analog stick (or left as with Prime on Gamecube) or have one or two buttons dedicated to turning.

Arms literally releases next week, Splatoon is practically around the corner, and Mario is something we have the most knowledge of out of everything else. I don't remember doing much multitasking between the two screens, so if they were to just have a hotkey that pulled up the stuff shown on the Wii U Tablet I think that would work just fine. And even the smallest improvement(s) over the Wii U version would be enough to offset any downsides that presents in my opinion.
