I won't be happy until Miles disappears off the face of this planet. He's the most awkwardly handled "legacy" character ever, barely distinguishable from the original, written only because a hack wanted to popularize his own OC with OP powers that allowed him to defeat the strongest villains even just by mistake, while the supporting cast of the original cast costantly compliments him for simply existing. And this all gets me mad because people MUST accept him for his irrelevant to the character race, otherwise they're racists. We've got to the point where it's been years but the kid isn't allowed to have his own superhero name because officializing that he's only a secondary to Peter would be offensive to the PC audience or fucking Bendis

And this all gets me mad because every new Spider-product risks to be a Miles one, just because he exists in his irrelevancy. Mayday is ignored, Miguel is ignored (which is also latino btw), Kaine and Ben get ignored... but the fresh young black man is getting animated movies and videogames roles, for he is a young black man and that makes him important

Because the media likes to go out of their way to let people know whenever they are including a black person for those diversity points. So when will other people get this nod? I'd like to play an actually good game with a Puerto Rican main character. Even if he is brown. Even if it stereotypes a bit to.

We got GTA San Andreas for example. Doesn't have to be a game like that but I'd take anything like a DMC like game, FPS, Horror game, etc.

I don't give a shit. If the characters are good and happen to look like me, that's cool. If the characters are shit, then the game was probably shit to begin with and a few token stereotypes are just the cherries on top. Your position of "I'd be pissed if there were more people in games that looked like me!" is honestly just stupid, and I'm assuming you're just projecting your own distaste of ((diversity)) onto others. I actually remember reading a post here awhile ago from when Nintendo censored the Native American class on Bravely Second and replaced her with a cowboy. Native posters were pissed because they are so few and forgotten that ANY sort of acknowledgement of them is considered a positive thing.

Tokenism is dumb, but I'll still rep all the dark skinned alt costumes in Guilty Gear because it feels nice to be acknowledged. I think you not understanding how that feels is kind of funny in a HURR WHYTE PRIVLAJ XDD kind of way.

All that said, I'm a /pol/ack who reaps the benefits of both sides. Forced diversity adds more brown waifus to my collection, and complaining about it just encourages devs to do it more. On the flipside when certain devs like CD Projekt take a hard stance against tokenism, I can use that as fodder to shitpost against SJWs. No matter who wins, I win.

Having black people in the game has never and never will be a deciding factor in my decision to purchase a game or not.

Still it's nice to somewhat see yourself represented by various characters ingame.

It also doesn't mean that I condone the people bitching beacause X people are not in the game (thinking about the few witcher 3 complains).

What is truly funny is to witness all the butthurt and rage that the inclusion of people of different colors cause. It's really baffling to see the endless whining about conspiracies and claim of any sort of moral high ground when it's peppered with racials slurs and not one bit of legimate criticism about the gameplay.
