I was thoroughly confused at to what I was looking at the whole time. Literally the only thing that made me think of Beyond Good and Evil in that whole thing was the Pig Man at the start. When I think of Beyond Good and Evil I think of Jade and Payje sneaking around a complex fighting Alpha Section, not a foul mouthed monkey on a flying motorcycle. Really hated the accents, "humor," gritty realism, and overall edginess that Ubi has embodied for the past handful of years. I wouldn't call it 100% lighthearted, but it was definitely a cartoony world with no moral gray area.
The best part of the game was the atmosphere and the worldbuilding, which hopefully this will retain, but god there was no foulmouthed monkey sidekicks or whatever in the first.

A lot of the first was just chilling out, riding around in the water, taking pictures of freaky animals, things like that.

They talked about pleasing old fans that have been waiting for 15 years, but this was definitely a trailer that advertised something different. The original Beyond Good and Evil is much more lighthearted and down to earth. This trailer is FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK MARVEL QUIPS LOL.

Also it's a prequel to a cliffhanger. Come the fuck on. What if it bombs? Yeah those fans waiting for 15 years finally got what they wanted. The sad thing is that most of this criticism will go unheard because 99% of people interested in BG&E2 have never played the first game.
