FFXII is god tier. Whichever you play is your preference, but get the IZJS version if you emulate. Dont buy a system especially for it, but its worth a playthrough.

No. The original is pretty dank, IZJS improves some things and changes the level system(arguably good or bad) but it's the same game. Remake is just the IZJS system with slight improvements.

It's a very overrated game but it's a PS2 JRPG with high production values so it's not like it's terrible. Without the production values it would be though.

People shit on it mostly for the gambit system, but i enjoyed it. You can program your toons, like making them cast cure when someone drops below half health. The game does tend to play itself a bit, but youll constantly be adjusting your gambits. In fact, its the final fantasy game ive logged the most hours in.

That's the main thing people like about it, though.

They shit on it for the characters and story and how the game plays itself(in that it's piss easy to break it by tilting your analog stick in a direction).
