I think the biggest issue was actually just that the streams on Twitch were a complete disaster with constant buffering and audio desyncing. That's something like half a million people who got a terrible stream experience so it makes the whole conference look awful

It was OK, just OK.

They played it super safe, and there was no real surprises. Maybe Monster Hunter was the biggest? And even at that, it had been rumored.

Still, they didn't embarrass themselves either I guess.

Microsoft didn't show any new games and Sony looked at their slate and said fuck it we won't overshow either and that's that. Goddammit we have MULTIPLE sources in and outside of Japan Studio telling us they have many games in development but Sony always fucking shaft them for shit like DAYS GONE which is utterly generic af.

Also, this is the second time they've rereleased SOTC. They had a PS3 version too. So this is more like a HD remaster of a HD remaster.

There's no point in it really, unless they put a few new colossus in it or something, which they won't.

It was a real letdown compared to last year's conference. The stuff they did show seemed very par for the course rather than anything amazing.

I liked the SotC reveal, even though it's just a remake. I also liked Spider-Man and I'll probably get MonHun, even tho I think it will likely be a casualized version of it.

But nothing really popped. MonHun and SotC were the closest to being striking, but they didn't reach the hype levels required to really set the whole show apart from the rest.

Ubisoft might have had a better show. Hell, the new Wolfenstein had a pretty clumsy trailer but that last stretch of gameplay footage made me excited for it more than most other things shown this E3.

Basically everyone was expecting sony to btfo everyone because they're the ones who have done marginally better the entire gen and the other companies have shit conferences anyway only for sony to have the worst one besides bethesda.

I'm not really a critical person, but I was very underwhelemed by Sony's E3. They said they were bringing back Japanese games ina big way, and we only got Shadow of the Colossus remaster as an exclusive. Nothing else. No new Fromsoft ARPG, no DMC5, no Dragons Dogma 2, nothing.

Days Gone is not my kind of game, I'm already sick of zombies
God of War looks even further casualized, and perhaps has the lamest Jörmungandr reveal, especially considering he helps you and you dont fight him.
Spider-Man had way too many QTE and the combat looked pretty bad.
The fact that I was more interested in a David Cage game that the rest of what Sony whas showing is pretty telling for their current quality.
