What made God of War enjoyable was the fact that you were playing the power fantasy of a 13-year-old. I've played every God of War except Ascension, even the PSP ones. It's obvious they're revamping the combat since it's basically a reboot. I doubt many people want the same combat for the 6th game in a row. Plus the blades of chaos don't make sense anymore.

The whole reason you have those powers is to see what happens when you use them. And since Bioshock always had elemental attacks it's only natural you'd see an enemy light on fire after using a fire ability. You could say that's brutally killing an enemy but it's the only way it works.

While almost everything looks great so far, there are two things that are legit bothering me with the game right now.

1. One of the coolest things about God Of War games was being able to use a weapon as iconic as the main Blades. They were a little bit unique in how they worked, and that's how they became iconic. But here we have an ax and shield. While I welcome the introduction of new weapons, at least have them be a little creative as well like the Blades.

2. The games have the best camera in action games like these. Every time you move to a new area the game changes it's camera for you to a fixed angle where you can see everything, and rolling with the right stick makes dodging that much more intuitive. Compared to its peers like DMC, NG, Bayonetta, W101, MGR it was far better than them at that end since those games had multiple tries and they still to this day haven't figured it out. But for some odd reason, we have moved over to a third person overtheshoulder view. Why? The game still feels like the visceral action game it is portrayed to be, and if dodging, attacking multiple enemies, fighting large monsters, plus on harder difficulties using the environment are still important in this game, it would make more sense to have the older camera, no?
