I was pretty upset with most things. There were certain things I was hopeful about, Evil Within 2 being the biggest thing along wiht Metro. I've never been super huge on Sony conferences just because a lot of Sony IPs don't interest me, but I was hopeful for this because of all the rumors abound. But god damn that was disappointing. Monster Hunter looked pretty off, looked like the rumors of them catering to a western audience is true, which genuinely upsets me. Oh well, maybe next year. Never would I have expected that Microsoft and Ubisoft would be my favorites.

I'm not sure if Nintendo has any surprise reveals up their sleeves since they've been so busy already, so even though we'll get stuff like Mario Odyssey gameplay (neat), it's not a shocking announcement and therefore it might not leave a strong enough impression for them to "win" E3. 2016 was worse. We got no surprises this year but we got a metric fuckton of gameplay info and most people should find something to play, even if there's no huge mover.

2016 was all cinematic trailers and prerendered gameplay.

It's not unexpected, we've had one of the strongest years in a long time so everything thing good that has been worked on for the past few years came out early this year. Great games will still come out this year but be ready to play them for the entirety of 2018.
