Yeah. Neither side want to fuck this up. Ubisoft wants a chance at a stable relationship with Nintendo and a piece of the pie, and Nintendo wants third party devs that will actually make games that will sell on the Switch.

This game isn't shovelware, nor does it seem half-assed. Silly and weird and probably an overall dumb concept? Sure. Lazy or a cash-grab? Doesn't seem so. At least this time around.

I think this game will most likely be bad, but I want it to be good despite having Rabbids, if the gameplay is there it should be fun.

I honestly hate whenever anyone compares Rabbids to minions. I love rabbids, I find them genuinely funny. Minions on the other hand, are literally an unfunny ripoff that came four years later.

I haven't had a Nintendo console of my own since the first GBA, and for good reasons, but this title, amongs others, is really making me consider buying a Switch.

Minions literally started as a sidekick, their own name defines them. They were clearly ripped off rabbids, but the thought process behind was more calculated: for some reason they made them unlike anything you can ever conceive so they're not cute nor adorable. They're yellow tic-tacs. They're just generic slapstick puppets that don't really work outside their context.

The whole anthro white rabbit figure is in itself cute. The bulging eyes are that visual hint that links with insanity, also pay attention to the twitching eyelid, another sign of insanity; when they freak out, eyes turn red and diverge, which again reinforces the idea of insanity. The mouth gets distended only during screming, which is a cartoonish and effective way of conveying a scream visually, when not screaming the mouth is rather small, pic related.

Beside, you don't have to take my word for it: Rabbids have always been a successful character, because they're very well designed and animated. Rayman Raving Rabbids was sort of an experiment that turned out well by themselves.
