Once the game gets a Ultimate edition you won't have to pay 40 bucks for the DLC or any DLC after the Ultimate edition launches.

Before it ask, The ultimate edition is a upgrade that fluctuates in price depending on whether you have Payday 2 or not as well as how much DLC you have.
Without Payday 2 it is $45 it's probably $35 if you just own Payday 2.
