That way they don't have to build an actual game. They design the characters (or ships in this case), a handful of maps, modes and then charge full price instead of having to design an actual world or levels or interesting characters (interesting looking is all they have to be).

Its not but Ubisoft has proven time and time again, most recently with For Honor, that they cannot competently manage a multiplayer only game. Siege is the only major MP focuses success that they've had and that's definitely an exception. For Honor and The Division were huge things for Ubisoft and they both were bogged down by shit design decisions and management. I have no faith that this game will be any different.

At least a single player game wouldn't be reliant on a population that will likely evaporate faster than For Honor.

I have 370 hours on FH, probably 500 on Siege, and played Wildlands beta.

Siege is good but like I said, its broken and hasn't been fixed for 2 years. They're more concerned with releasing new micro-transaction helmet skins than making ranked work properly.

FH is just bad, overall. Its fun for a while but bad.

Wildlands sucks.


S&B will suck too. It will follow the exact same formula as FH and Siege. P2P connections, customization that seems cool at first but is actually very bland and not well thought out, and progression that means nothing. Maybe the gameplay will save it, but constantly fighting in the Black Flag naval battles got tedious after a while.
