they keep repeating this as if it's comparable to 4k on PC, but all the footage looks like they seriously downgrade the graphics quality to hit the resolution. and it's still not 60fps for most games.

4k is only really worth it if you're already playing on 60fps+ ultra settings, in which case it adds a lot of crispness and removes some aliasing, but at lower settings your textures and AA are often what's making it look bad in the first place, which resolution won't really help.

i really don't see any reason to get this, it's nice that they're trying to bring console power up and hopefully this will lessen the downgrades happening to big titles to work on console hardware but until the XxbonexX is the standard, and the normal xbox is pretty much obsolete, i don't see that happening.

OS matters alot less than dev teams being able to optimize for a very specific hardware set.

Much of the time on PC, fine tuning is left up to the hardware guys (Intel, Nvidia, AMD). DX12 and Vulkan alleviate this, to a degree, but being able to optimize for one hardware set will always produce the best results.
