Pretty good
They removed all grinding from it though

You earn 3x the EXP with quests now
Every 10 levels you get the new set of armor and weapons for free until level 60 i think
Most balance changes have made every class playable and survivable

theres not many people playing it anymore though, you're better off trying to find a friend to co-op through the entire game within a week

It's eh... still probably has one of the best gameplay styles out there but it suffers from a catch 22 of having a highly involved combat system. It's all great, but it makes content really sluggish to come out without the support of a more dedicated team. The result is waiting for a new boss to fight for 6 months, getting it, mastering it in a few days and then being bored again. They need player-driven content like decent PvP or something.

90 days * 24 hours = 2160 hours

812 hours / 2160 = 37.5% of the time, I was playing vindictus

37.5% of my time in those 3 months was vindictus.

Does this game ever get decently challenging? I tried to get into it a while ago and i liked the combat but i just blasted through every mission without even taking damage. How many hours do you have to invest before it gets fun?

I think everyone on /v/ secretly has a vindictus character that they spent way too much time and effort on, but nobody talks about it.

Well, it's not like the game was shit.
It was grindy as all hell, but the game was fun, it looked nice, played well and had a good system to play with others. I wouldn't be ashamed of it. I wish it was still active though, but the game just didn't change enough over the years to keep people interested.

Klaus is actually surprisingly hard compared to other bosses. He has pretty good tracking and is a walking hitbox with attacks that drain stamina. If you want to start soloing I'd suggest beginning with controlled black hammer. He only has like 3 or 4 attacks in each phase.
