If they ever decide to explore the original idea of him leading a conduit uprising in the now alternate ending, maybe.

I could easily see it still working with the same mechanics as before.
>Cole awakens every possible conduit
>Some pockets of human survive, either slowly dying to the RFI disease or somehow immune
>Cole now has to deal with either wiping out all traces of the previous race or attempt to forge peace with the new minority that is man

There's certainly potential, and it's a bummer they didn't explore it first.

They died from the RFI being activated. Problem is, somehow Augustine and her paper loli lived despite being activated mere days ago. The idea that it only killed those whose gene had been activated was more easy to handwave, as it went by the idea that those who weren't activated would just have the ray field disease purged from them and then maybe activate later, as may have been the case with Delsin (though he does not mention ever getting the disease).

Stick with me on this anons.

Sucker punch said they looked at trophy data and decided the canpon ending was the good ending as it had the most trophies.
the good ending is where cole dies.
Now cole was supposed to die, and all conduits were supposed to die too, but we still have conduits in SS, and some who were neaar new marais when cole set the device off.
So that is a plot hole.
But the real plot hole is the time paradoxes. Kessenger would not have been able to go back in time, to set of the device, to create conduits, specifically cole. If cole died before he became kessenger. Then we have a merry go round of paradoxes whether the conditions to create coles death, or getting powers could not have been created.
tl;dr, cole isnt dead
>>
>>380074473
I figured maybe there were people who were carriers of the Conduit gene without actually being Conduits themselves. Like how you can carry the gene for blonde hair without being blonde.
>>
>>380075629
Delsin wasn't all that bad, just should have had more powers to use and maybe some way for him to mix and match from the pool of abilities he amassed. As it was, each power had maybe one or two neat skills to them, while the rest of the skill lists for them were just forgettable.

Also, would have been nice if the damned karma actually changed the story, at least for Reggie's death in evil path.

Possible, though I had figured the "they must have been conduits and didn't know it" meant that they were active, but in the natural sense like presumably Kessler and whoever else emerged in the original future. Cole and many others were all forced into activation, but like the naturals, they were susceptible to the RFI. But ones who had the gene (whether in a recessive sense or not yet awakened) would be the ones to live. As it is, it seems like Augustine and the paper girl just magically survived for no reason other than to have Augustine have some justification to her wangst.

Nigga, it's clearly multiverse theory. You're concerned with Cole dying before he could become Kessler?

Kessler fucking killed Trish, the woman he married and had die in his arms in his timeline. Killing here would have long since caused a paradox, if not the fact that he activated his past-self years before he was meant to gain power.

He wouldn't even need to fake is death, they've already retconned the story once by allowing conduits to somehow survive after the end of Infamous 2, completely contradicting the point of the story, so there's nothing stopping Cole from just reappearing for no reason, it would make just as much sense.

>Accidentally recruits the Beast into his organization and speeds up the activation of his Conduit powers
Do Conduits actually activate naturally, without any kind of RF radiation? I wouldn't think so, because there's no evidence of active Conduits existing more than a little while before Infamous 1. If that's the case then surely it would have made more sense to just destroy all the Ray Sphere research to delay its invention for 50-60 more years and hope the Beast dies of old age before being activated.
>>
>>380076121
Honestly i think that the issue is that you can only use one power at a time and some are just plain better then the others, with Neon and Video being major offenders due how fucking broken their movement is, that said i actually enjoyed playing with Smoke and concrete the most, even though the later is a pain to recharge, Smoke in paricular is great when you realize just how you are supposed to use it (Protip: Bamf off roof ceilings instead of jumping, you can chain three bamfs that way which is as much or more distance as jumong and bamfing twice, but faster and more fluidly)

And ultimately i felt like i had more customization and options with Coles 2(/3 in NG+) powers in 2 then Delsins 4 in SS becaue you are always forced to use the whole set.

And as said, Neon/Video movements killed the parkour/platforming aspects of the game.

They do, and it's actually hinted at that Kessler knew John was the beast. He may have brought him in to be close so when he became the beast, Cole could kill him right away. Unfortunately, Kessler didn't realize Cole wouldn't be ready for how powerful a being John would reappear as. But that's multiverse nonsense for ya. They even say in the DC comic tie-in that Cole was showing signs of his powers way before the blast.

>>
>>380078714
Revenge fantasy, pretty much. Kessler couldn't stop the beast from his time, so he wanted his younger self to be able to do it and essentially avenge the destroyed future.
>>
>>380077946
>Neon/Video movements killed the parkour/platforming aspects of the game.
yeah, but I think that they wanted that, and imo it made it a lot streamlined, although i was using neon a lot to get onto roofs.
Parkour in 1 and 2 was terrible, bash X at a wall.
It was the same in SS but it wasnt needed to be used as much because of vents, then other powers.
>>
>>380078953
It annoyed me how Fetches powers were so much better in the DLC than in the main game.
>>
>>380079187
Kessler's not about revenge, though. The whole lesson he was trying to drill into Cole 2.0 is that you need to prioritize the greater good. Him being selfish is what fucked the timeline in the first place. If Kessler could have ended the entire crisis with one dead body he would have.

>>
>>380079396
Well it makes sense as she's the original power wielder, Delsin is basically like Rogue wherein he only gets a discount version of the powers. It's one reason why being able to mix them should have been a thing later on, where he could warp with smoke and then bombard DUP guys with neon spikes or concrete hail.
>>
Corrupted Fetch was the best
>>
maybe if they made an alternative timeline sequel to infamous 2 where Cole became the beast, Kuo didn't die but Zeke and most of the normal humans did, and he obtained an army of conduits.

and then it'd depict Delsin who grows up differently and probably already lost his brother. Delsin's power is absorbing other powers, so he could have a completely different set of powers than he did in Second Son. Enemies would also be a lot more exciting since he'd be fighting against Cole's legion of conduits.

Morality system could stay in too by having Delsin either become a champion of the weak who seeks to stop Cole and someone purely out for revenge for destroying the world. The choices could be weighted appropriately by making it a harder choice to walk down the good path (for both personal reasons and also possibly gameplay reasons) Maybe make it so that you can redeem beaten foes and save people and they help you in some way on final leg of the game to counter the difficulty. Game has a badass end boss fight.

Perhaps for good guy ending or a secret good ending obtained after collections or completing certain tasks, Cole breaks down and talks about how he regrets everything and then goes back in time with his newly unlocked time machine powers to undo his mistakes.

No, Kessler just wanted Cole to not be against using any means necessary if it meant getting power and ending the beast. Hell, he was just fine with Cole wasting more lives with the ray sphere if it meant Cole getting another jump in power to be able to face John. He might not have been consumed with vengeance to the point of letting the entire world die for it, but Kessler obviously wanted some justice for what happened in his time.
>>
>>380080374
Honestly, I could see the game being set decades later, with Cole in charge of the new conduit world and trying to rebuild society. There'd be pockets of humans who somehow survived the disease and the blast John and Cole made to activate the sickened conduits. In the time since, Cole is no longer the only superpower conduit, there are others close to his level.

This is would be where the conflict comes in. Some of Cole's followers are down with reconnecting with the leftovers of humanity because they feel sorry for basically taking the world from them (and not like Cole was doing to fuck over humans for shits and giggles), while others are not only fine with wiping them out, but establishing a pecking order within the conduit world.

I would certainly imagine the karma becoming more dynamic where you have to satisfy factions and forge alliances, which wouldn't be easy as some groups would hate each other for whatever reasons. This way, you could maybe have up to 4-5 endings instead of just the usual two.

If there's ever another game I'd like for the origin of conduits to be a plot point.
The RFI killed dormant conduits on the other side of the planet, yet a bunch of active ones pop up again by SS. The easiest explanation is that some external force is actively implanting the "gene" in humans, so killing all the original active and dormant ones meant nothing to it. Maybe this would tie into how it was said the raysphere seemed like it was alive.

Augustine and >>380078071 also survived as well, and were either in Empire city or one of the adjacent states John waltzed through on his way to Not-New Orleans.

It's a big othersight, pretty much. If neither had activated their powers, then having conduits survive because they weren't active yet would have been just fine.
>>
>>380084689
Really, the problem comes from the part in 2 showing people who didn't even know they had conduit potential inexplicably dropping dead in foreign countries. It made it clear that every single potential conduit in the world was being exterminated. Didn't matter how far away they were. Didn't matter if they had actually awakened their powers or not. Didn't matter if they weren't exposed to any radiation either. Conduit gene = dead, no exceptions. Or at least that's what 2 tried to convey.
"Lol some just survived" seems like a lazy retcon. A real explanation would have been more interesting.

Based on what, though? We're talking fictional superhuman gene and fictional device attuned to unique power signature related to it. It could have very well just targeted those who were starting to gain powers or forcibly activated like Cole had been.

If it were to go for everyone with the gene, what about those with it but recessively? They would have been wiped too, and since recessive genes hide in a lot of people, that could have taken a great deal of people who were carrying the gene recessively (possibly for generations within their bloodlines).

Because gene is a misnomer.
It appears like a glowing organ under scans, can manifest in rats, can forcefully be imbued in people who don't naturally have it, and can be awakened by sucking the life out of people.
That shit is an ethereal power, not some mere gene.

A. Kessler did not know the original person the Beast was, it was just a coincidence for the story's sake

B. Conduits can activate naturally but the results are usually a lot weaker than if they're augmented with a ray sphere (the hobo dude in 1 was a minor psychic raised by the first sons but his powers didn't fully manifest until he was caught in Cole's original blast)

C. John activated MUCH earlier than he did in Kesslers timeline because of Kessler's interference, so Kessler despite trying to prepare himself for the beast only set about the events for him to once again be unprepared for the beast
