It kept the traditions without fucking them up, last Turn based FF, best summons, best designs. FF finished on a bang.

Since FFXII they kept being innovative but it's basically a new formula of FFs, no turn-based system, less and less summons, original jobs are chopped and mixed to make something new, story is more about technology than fantasy, they are great games but don't feel the same as X or the previous games.

Nah, it was XII. Fuck, even XIII and XV weren't bad, just disappointing. In fact I haven't played a single ff that I considered bad (didn't play1-3 or the MMOs).

12 was breddy gud, it felt a bit empty and the characters a bit superficial at times, but it was a good entry nonetheless.

FF13 was just absolute boring bland shit, it was like watching a movie that relied 100% on CGI. FF15 i don't know about, completely disregarded it after FF13.

But the thing is that those are 3 games from 10. 30%, so there is variety on the rest. Now it's always about technology so the scope of fantasy is narrower.

XV has its problems but ehh fuck it, i cant act like I didnt enjoy the hell out of playing most of it. It really reminds me or nier in it having objectivly so many problems but the parts i like greatly outweight it.

Also 12 is infinitely better than X.
