The new game from Retro Studios is indeed Metroid but it's a 2D 3D Hybrid.
F-Zero is in the works (currently looking at at least 25 online racers)
Smash 4 is getting ported, big surprise. Now known as Super Smash Bros. For Switch. Again, big surprise.
Only a few characters will be added, mostly from franchises that are heavily under represented, meaning DK, Metroid, and Mother/Earthbound.
Ice Climbers aren't back, neither are Snake nor Wolf.
However, Inklings do come as newcomers. They are very similar to Snake.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will have a Smash Ballot like poll for a new Retro Cup DLC pack. You can choose any old tracks from all the previous games, except for ones that already appear in Mario Kart 8, for a new Retro Cup Pack that will be available near next Spring
Splatoon 2 will not let you play as Octolings. However, there will be loads of customization to let you be the squid you want to be.
Donkey Kong Country gets a new game by Retro with an alien invasion theme.
And rabbids
