Been looking for something I can mod and put some hours into. I've played shit loads of modded Warband and I've messed around with some Skyrim mods but that wasn't really doing it for me.

Some games are good for modding, but those games tend to be good engines with shit game design. In games with mediocre engines but amazing game design, the modding leaves something to be desired.

For example, if I had a choice of Super Mario Bros with every fan created mod ever or Super Mario Bros + Lost Levels, I'd choose lost levels every time. Sure, fan content is more content, but none of it is as good as the original in the first place.

Of course with shitdevs like bethesda and fireaxis, the average modder is better than the developers in game design anyway, so i'd go with mods everytime
