dont give a shit about the remakes for the first 3 games. first off they dont need to be remade, they're completely playable still. second, the art direction is completely ruined because crash was created to be the pinnacle of 90s low poly 3d design. third, the remakes are fucking lazy - loading times, colors are washed out brown mud distance fog to hide render distance (which wasnt there in the originals) and the fucking games run at 30fps, there's zero excuse for that.

HOWEVER, if they remake CTR, i am definitely interested, as its multiplayer mode would benefit greatly when brought to current gen standards. the framerate was sub 20s in multiplayer, many tracks were unavailable and NPC racers disappeared.

Crash's model looks fucking better in the Skylanders game than he does in this. The playable Coco and features from 3 added in 1 and 2 aren't really enough to sway me. i think i'd have sooner paid for a bundle with the original 3 games together (and maybe like CTR) with no changes than i would for this.

What's the point of making a 1:1 remaster of a game if you actually make it look worse in the new attempt?
I want to strangle Activision's artistic directors. Educate yourselves, grow a fucking talent or change a job. Redoing a game in more details means shit if you fuck up absolutely everything else in the process.
On visual design completely misses the points of the original. Fucking lazy. I've seen amateur, one-man projects holding better aesthetics.

Sorry man, it is worse and doesn't have the understanding of the original's style.The original looks vibrant, expressive and the artists knew how to work with colors palettes to make each stage look holistic. They worked around low resolution with and other technical limitations with a style.

The remaster is just "Let's every element put in higher resolution ASAP!! Don't mind the details or how it works with each other!". It's wrong on high level, but you can even see in details how little care they put, even in bits that were literally traced.
Look at OP pic. Tiny's head in the icon in the original looks at the viewer. In the remaster the lines were traced but the tracer didn't care to understand the pic and lack of shading makes the tiger look far left.
In the original's Tiny's head on the arena, his lower lip wraps around his teeth, through the shade. In the remaster that part just cuts and makes a weird rim before the teeth. Less than deviantart level of competency.

The problems are on all levels, the base and the details. It is different. AND worse. Don't you dare be happy with that compilation.

First game is not 'completely playable', it controls badly.

The art direction is the same.

The remake is anything but lazy, since they didn't have any code or anything of the old game and had to remake every little thing and try to make it feel and look like the original but then in actual full 3D. The colors have been consistently fixed showing that they are actually trying. Also new content.

Agree on CTR though.

These remakes are doing that thing where the animators over-animate expressions to compensate for their lack of ability to convey subtle emotions while also not committing to tone or atmosphere.

So you're still not sure even after Coco was confirmed playable in all 3 games with her own unique moveset, nor by the fact that Crash 1 is going to be the single best game in the trilogy now since not only were time trials added, but the controls and physics have to work for all three games, and they still haven't revealed what the big 'surprise' is for E3.
