Factoring in the cost of a Windows license and the 4k blu ray player it would be very difficult to match the price/performance ratio being offered, and that's without thinking about console optimization that typically allows games to run smoother on consoles compared to similarly spec'd PCs.
If you want an easy, low-maintenance way to enjoy games and movies on a 4k TV then the 1X is probably the way to go.
If you like Sony exclusives and don't care about movies then obviously you would get a PS4 Pro and save $100 but you'd be losing the 4k blu ray player, and multi-plat games won't run as well.

People who play lots of games have money and if they've had an Xbone since 2014 they likely have a lot of a games that will benefit from being played on the OneX. I spent 400 on the Xbone in August 2014 and the first three games I had for the damn thing were Dead Rising 3, Titanfall and Destiny.

I don't game on my PC very much so getting something more powerful than it for less than the price it would take me to make some significant upgrades is a good thing for me.

I'm very happy to see that a lot of games will have a performance boost from being played on the X, that's all I really gotta say.

Going off the specs it's an RX580 underclocked. But with 12GB of GDDR5, which has to be shared throughout the whole system, because for some reason the current gen consoles don't have seperate VRAM and main RAM. It has to be a 580 because the 570 cannot produce 6 Tflops. Which is likely what the PS4 Pro uses.

the new Xbox one x is a solid deal. The performance it brings for the price simply cannot be reproduced with a custom built PC, as the prices for such parts are usually at a retail premium. In fact, the parts in the xbox one x are probably more expensive than $500 to build per unit, and Microsoft is probably selling the hardware at a LOSS on PURPOSE.

Here is a link to a build I put together of an AMD PC with hardware relatively close to an xbox one x. It's CPU is arguably better as its clocked higher, and is the new ryzen platform. The Ram is fairly decent, 8 gigs at 2400 and decent timings. The motherboard gives you the ability to overclock the CPU, and has decent features. The 1 TB hard drive is a fast and proven western digital drive. And finally, the GPU is a 8 Gig RX 580, which comes in just under 6 tflops, and is a little overpriced right now as there is a supply shortage of these, you could have found RX 480/580s for under $200 a couple of months ago. I did not include a copy of Windows, although you could find gray market windows keys for around $40 for windows 10 pro. You could also sub in a GTX 1060 6gb if you like nvidia, or upgrade to a GTX 1070 for a bit above 6 Tflops.

The main advantage is now you have a decent PC that not only games but can be used for productivity and streaming. You also have room to upgrade later if you want, and you can add hard drives or other utility devices as needed.

It is also important to note that games on the xbox one x and consoles in general, will typically run better than their PC port counterparts as they are better optimized by the developer. It is easier for developers to fine tune things on hardware platforms like consoles that are uniform and have operating systems made specifically to run the games with priority.
