it's outsourced DLC
aka paid mods
Guys, the jokes are funny but it needs to stop.
These 'paid' mods are just a tiny subset of mods that you can buy while still being able to earn achievements in games(normally downloading mods causes achievements/trophies to be disabled.)
I'm not watching the E3 right now.
What are these lightning coin credits? Is that just fucking "points" you buy with real money?
Whatever it is, I'm glad I never mod games. It's just basketball tits and enabling spoiled babies that go "wahhhh I don't have basketball tits on my lady character".

It's more like microDLC, seems fitting they'd find a way to further nickel and dime people since they are the ones who originated DLC in it's modern incarnation

Sounds like devs polishing fan-made content (mods) and putting it behind some subscription fees. Could be wrong, missed the presentation.

You buy Credits with real money, rather than mods.
Then you buy the mods with credits, "not" real money.
It's the big bullshit loophole that everybody's been doing. Since you exchange an exact currency for an exact currency, and then play with the currency, it isn't gambling/buying a product.
It's not paid mods, it's mods that they curate themselves so they can call it paid DLC instead of paid mods.
This just looks like microtransactions with some shit by third parties who'll presumably be vetted beforehand. Can't say I'm a fan of it but it's at least better than the initial attempt at it, will look forward to pirating it.
>not working on a new fallout or elder scrolls
>instead working on paid mods micro-transactions
god damnit
god fucking damnit
>>379982178
I didn't get baited, I called it exactly what it is MicroDLC made with cheap labor provided by mod creators.
Only good thing that can come out of these is that someone recognizes the talent many of these modders have and gives them a job at the studio.

Regular mods are free and can't be made into CREATION CLUB bullshit.
However, actual creation club bullshit are indeed paid mods but they come from actual developers or whatever.
>>379982503
I'm no doctor, but isn't exchange one currency for another to be used in the betting exactly how casinos operate with chips?
>>379979967
This honestly doesn't look that bad. Assuming they actually follow through with what they're saying and don't allow asset flipping like before, it's whatever. As far as I can tell this looks more like Beth paying some poor fucks to manage compatibility issues and spelling errors in submitted mods because normalfags are incapable of understanding how to do it themselves.
Ultimately this is going to depend on the major mod devs. Bethesda isn't saying they're going to make Nexus mods incompatible or hard to manage, so nothing much should change except for a few specific Jews removing their content from the Nexus to put on the marketplace (SkyUI creator). It's going to crash and burn if people throw a tantrum again and simply remove all their content.

What they're saying is that it's different from last time, since they're not just slapping pricetags on stuff that was free yesterday. They're trying to provide a service where they help get user created content polished up to the point where customers can justify paying for it.
It's really not a bad idea, since there's a lot they could provide by working more closely with the most talented modders and making sure that popular mod projects turn into something truly worthwhile instead of being stuck as buggy WIP forever. But they're gonna have to do a really fucking good job at it to regain customer trust after the horrendous job they did the first time around. Just avoiding the phrase "paid mods" isn't good enough. Then again, maybe they don't give a shit about customer trust and will just fuck us all over because casuals won't care.
>>379979967
basically: it's no longer a mod if it's officially "worked with", it's dlc. so it's not really "paid mods", but it is.
>>379984097
>a few specific Jews removing their content from the Nexus to put on the marketplace (SkyUI creator)
They're saying they won't allow any existing mods at all. Which is pretty fucking important, since if you could just go ahead and make a mod that nearly every other mod depends on (SkyUI) into a paid mod, the whole modding community is fucked even if they promise to leave it alone.
