>>
I've become a casual not because of a job or responsibility, but because I feel too tired to deal with anything too difficult. Wish I could get over this and get back to actually enjoying games like I used to.
>>
>>379874273
>Infinite time
>Good enough PC to emulate any game I want
>Spend all day downloading iso's and roms and never play anything

No one warned me about this when I was a kid, where's the "it's so fuck being an adult" future I was promised?
>>
>>379874273
time to kys
>>
>>379874273
It's time to become a serial killer.
>>
>>379874698
Got a job and uni. Can confirm getting a job does not fill the void.

>tfw you've completed all video games
what do now
>>
>>379875647
I got a job and went to uni and the void was filled quite nicely.

I'm convinced a schedule is what filled the void. Having to be on time made me feel productive compared to waking up late and doing nothing.

>find a new love for games through smash
>in France so no local scene or players whatsoever
>get destroyed online on sm4sh and can't find anyone to play with on PM where I'm better

This sucks
>>
>>379875996
Waking up at 6 AM, coming home tired, then having to get ready and leave at night only to return 2 hours away from midnight is making me fell more miserable than I've ever been.
>>
>>379875707
>tfw played so many video games you can predict how the game will play out within your first 2 hours of playing
>Lose all interest in playing now that you know you're in for long stretches of just mashing attack, watching the "my best buddy betrayed me OMG" cutscene and the inevitable final boss who you thought was some dickhead guy but is really a mutant space alien intent on enslaving humanity
>>
>>379876217
>6am to 10pm

Well that sucks. I had a part time 3 days near my house then uni 4 days 20 miles away. I was tired, but I didnt feel like shit.
>>

>in France so no local scene or players whatsoever
Sur Paris:

Ou rencontrer des joueurs au Meltdown ou aux Milklubs (surtout les Halles)

Get a job. Then you'll start appreciating your free time more.
>>
Then find what's causing your void and deal the problem. Not that difficult.

The thing about getting a job and studying is that it doesn't fill the void with satisfaction. It feels the void with fear and worry that you'll be wasting your time with videogames, which you could be using for something more important before you gotta leave again.
>>
>>379876734
Fuck you norm how about you go drink some beers with your friends and your girlfriend fuck you
>>
>>379876814
>>379876418

I'm at this stage too, can't enjoy games anymore because they're all the same shit. Same goes for movies and whatnot.

I don't get it, what the fuck do people do with their time? I have a job and even with what little free time I have I find myself just robotically surfing the internet since I have no desire to do anything.

Vidya stopped filling the void for me a while ago. Now I'm just going through the motions at this point.

not. a single. one.

good games sure. But nothing that makes a gamer proud.
>>
>>379877028
Nothing to do with "normies" or anything like that.
The void exists for a reason, whatever that may be. For some it's lack of purpose, for others lack of companionship, for you it might be something else entirely.
Find what that purpose is, and if it's fixable, fix it.
No need to be a shrink to figure that much out.

I'm a NEET but I have a friend who makes $60k a year and he just saves it all and gets drunk on the weekends at home while watching a movie. He could buy any game he wants but he knows it'll just sit there unplayed so he just spends all his free time wondering why he even bothers.
>>

Elysium had cool tech but the plot was gay as fuck

>le evil rich white people hoarding all the nice things from their castle in space and the poor dindu nuffins on earth are the good guys because they're brown and poor

Sharlto Copley carried the movie as usual.
>>
Was happy and optimistic about life. Then my dad died unexpectedly and my girlfriend left me right after. Now I no longer find myself enjoying the games I once loved and am in a deep depression.
>>
>>379880218
Elysium was about a guy who was fed up living in a shithole and placed all bets into invading richfags' space castle to save himself.

>>
>>379879737
pretty brutal but I think you are correct. I've never met an old married couple that still liked being together, and I've never met anyone over like 30 who has a truly close friend. Even love and friendship loses its novelty and gets boring after a while.
>>
>>379880338
And it wasn't emotionally investing to watch because Matt Damon has the charisma of a sponge and I understand the rich people's motivations and don't think they're evil for wanting to preserve a haven for a small part of humanity instead of letting everyone in and having it be shit and unsustainable for everyone.

>tfw in a relationship
>It's nothing like they show on tv, in movies or in books
>Half the time you feel like you only hang out with each other to avoid the loneliness
>Go into things expecting to feel this strong feeling of love fiction has conditioned us to expect then feel guilty when it's not there

I see it in their eyes sometimes when they look at me, the uncertainty. They're thinking what I am but they push it to the back of their mind like I do because we still manage to help each other forget and have fun mostly. I like them a lot and care about them but there's a quote from Dexter of all things that sums it up for me:

No matter how close two people are, an infinite distance seperates them

Life is good. Don't know if I'll feel otherwise in a year or two but for now I'm good.
>>
>>379881704
t b h I think you're hosed on the companionship front if you didn't establish friendships literally in grade school that persist today. No one will ever really trust someone they met at like 25, the days and months and years just aren't there and by that time everyone has developed their social facade and learned to use it.

Welcome to the next level, brothers.
Now it's when you start producing your own content instead of consuming other's. It's time to make a product that shows you've mastered the medium.
>>
>>379882731
University is your last chance of making real friends. Those 4 years of going through shit together really work wonders for bonding.
Any friends after that might as well be just acquaintances.

I've got a million dollar RPG idea, but I lack the programming knowhow and artistry to do anything but write out a script and mechanics.

The risk of rain dude and pretty much all of /agdg/ had no clue when they started.
You can either start doing really basic programming now and become a master 4 years from now or look back in the future at all the opportunities you missed while opening and closing 4chan in boredom.

>>379883315
>I've got a million dollar RPG idea
say it faggot. let's hear it. trust me it probably isn't worth shit

I literally can't. The premise is a simple, three-word phrase that serves as a monumental springboard. The moment I thought it up, I knew it had the potential to be a huge success.
>>
>>379884412
Work on it. If it's good, the idea will grow as you do shit.

Just look at the dorf fort brothers, it worked for them.
>>
>>379878636
ok, i have some "2 smurt 4 u" picks which you should watch/
Synecdoche: new york (and everything else Charlie Kaufman made)
Werner Herzog
The spy who came from the cold by martin ritt (Read the original novel)
Also you should read a book, the book version is good, i also recommend house of leaves, fanged noumena, anything of any philopher guys' works, georgian and russian books are godly but should be read in their original languages, der steppenwolf, or maybe read some classics like infinite jest, there are thousands of good films and books, you just need to bother to look instead of bitching about how the good shit isn't being hande to you on a platter
