I think they could be somewhat saved by hiring some big profile streamers to pretend the game is awesome. But I don't understand why so many devs refuse to do it, when it's some easy 1-5k new players from a single stream from fuckers like Lyric or soda or anyone with 20k+ viewers.

The bird is the only character with a half decent design and they have him the worst voice and dialogue ever

The game is irredeemable, it's completely awful, it's not a meme.

No character lore is teased, so you don't have any investment going in to a character
Character playstyles are improperly tagged
They should have gone for the full action figure look instead of halfway between BL and Xevoz
Optimization for toasters is hard, look up the steam guide
The free cosmetics are "tier 1 skins," as they call them, just recolors
Menu controls are a bit weird and nested

- Writing. It's cringy, it is not coherent, and the humors is really bad and cringy (They take so many memes and inserted them in the game.. dead meme.). The characters are badly written and are jokes in general.
- The controls are clunky, unresponsive. The UI is cluttered as fuck.
- The character have no feelings to them and their weapons. There are no "impact" or "weight" from playing them, it feels like you shoot rubber bullet.
- The whole design of that game. They said that they were inspired by Comicbook and Japanese animation artstyle in general, but i wonder what comicbook and Anime they took as inspiration because you don't feel it ingame. The colors are really washed out, the texture are bad, too many thing are flashy for no purpose at all, and the VFX, while being really good quality, do not fit at all (they're drawn compared to being simple particle).
Let's not talk about the character design in general. In a scale of "Shitty" to "Garbage" i'd say 5 of them are only shitty like Orandi/Deande/Phoebe for example. It's bad. Their character designers obviously has no talent at all and should be fired.

no, OW is infact, NOT a big part of the failure that was battleborn. It is, but it has little to do with it.
On release day on PC their peak was only 12000. Overwatch was released 4 days after.
Every games of that kind atleast has a sizeable community even after 1 month- but Battleborn didnt. Even with OW it didnt. TF2/Paladins survived and paladins was in beta since 2015.
