>enjoying game very much
>suddenly forced, obligatory romance
Anyone else hate this? Before you spout hurr virgin I don't mind if it's well executed (Xenogears, Automata, Trails in the Sky) but it almost never is. I WISH there were more NTR because at least that would keep things fresh and BTFO the fags wanting romance in everything.
>your entire party consists of sexual freaks and degenerates plus one very sad widower
>you never get to bang any of them
Odd design choice

I am 99% sure companion romances were planned but ultimately scrapped, I am hazy on the details but one scenario involved the courier and Cass getting drunk and waking up the next morning as newlyweds, the King was the one who wed them too.
Well-executed love stories are extremely rare in games but i still take forced choices over shitty wester "romance" options from bioware RPGs, Sawyer was absolutely right in bashing those.
It just takes a fairly competent writer to pull off something like a good love story that feels natural to the story or even supports its main themes like it was in both Xenogears and Automata with their cyclic struggle of two people to be together, sometimes across multiple incarnations.
