Yeah I'm over it, main reason is I just remember Kojima wanted to stop after 2, and REALLY wanted to stop after 3.

1, 2, and 3. (and the MSX games, if you like) are a complete saga. 4 is supplemental, while PW and V have good gameplay and are fun, but they're not needed for the story. Really 1, 2 and 3 are the perfect trilogy, they leave just enough to the imagination. I also enjoy 4 but I view it as supplemental.

Well you know what's interesting is that there actually was some ARG elements hidden in GZ, there was a tape you could use one of those sound-to-image converters on and it had a secret message, I can't remember what now, it was an image of one of the NPCs or something.

There was also some other stuff too I remember, but nothing that lead anywhere, it was assumed that MGSV would have more and thus you could piece it all together.

Much like Metal Gear Solid V had a tight thematic connection to Moby Dick, Death Stranding has a tight thematic connection to The Book of Jonah. That's why there is so much whale-themed and ocean-themed stuff going on in these trailers.
In this case, John Sheffield (Mads) is Jonah who is cast to sea and swallowed by a giant fish. Did I say thematic connection? I meant a remake. The prologue of Death Stranding is spent inside the fish. It's a limited playspace, etc. The fish's belly is roughly the size of Camp Omega.
Eventually John gets spit out of the fish and it switches characters to Reedus's. You go around and blow up shit, whatever, maybe fight Tarshish. The enemy of the story is constantly unseen but is often implied to be John/Jonah.
At the end you get blown the fuck out by a cut plant root exposing you to the sunlight, you realize that you were John the whole time, and then you fucking kill yourself.
Oh, and then at the end God is talking to someone about their plans and then calls them Mr. President.

Calling it now, all that Pyramid Head teasing is that he's going to be one of the tanks that appear. Changing form between tank and humanoid
