depends. if you don't mind motion and want more accurate aiming, go for Wii. If you want buttons only and don't mind controls being different than typical first person shooters, go for GameCube.

I personally prefer GC, I tried the motion controls and they were fast but just didn't feel accurate like an arcade gun game would have been, so it's personal preference really.

Prime 3 on Wii was a shitfest, motion controls make you lose a lot of accuracy, and turning and shit was so fucked up. I never played trilogy or echoes, but OG Metroid prime on GC was god tier.

Thanks. I've played 1 and 2 on GC and was thinking about getting the trilogy. It seems like it's just how you feel about the motion controls.
