Judging by what I am seeing it is far from being that bad, Haruka obviouosly betrayed his trust by making some bad choices but that kind of thing happens on normal families as well, and that does not stop their parents from worrying over their children.

Now about Kiryu and his relationships, he was the one who distanced himself from kaoru, he seemed like he was not seeing her as a partner in the beginning of 3 by just leaving Kamurocho to follow what he thinks is the right thing to do, he wanted to follow on Kazama's footsteps by helping orphan children, giving them a chance in this fucked up world.

He never really had any kind of deep romantic relationships, he probably fucked a bunch of girls here and there but nothing ever got too serious, because he just didn't care enough for it.

A complete break with the old setting and having new whole new cast would be great but I dont see this happening. The games had too little differences between them, they were too much of a step by step buildup for him to just drop it all.

To be fair, they did add a new area in 6 and 6 is an entirely new engine on top of them reworking nearly all of Kamurocho. I doubt it's too much of a risk to make yet another new and fleshed out area with how much they changed on 6.

By his stance, Kurohyo has actually better gameplay then every other Yakuza game.
You have more then 10 different fighting styles with upgrades and stamina system for you and enemies.
You can tell your health and boss have also damage stats, you can break a leg of the boss and he will limp or if you attack the head he may be stunned for few seconds.
And Kurohyo is actually challenging compared to the rest of the series and added tons of interesting ideas and sub stories which were later recycled for 5 and 6.
