I liked the animated sprites more than the 3d models of the pokemon in later games. I also liked the fact that this region is based off new york, just expected their to be more bigger areas like castelia or nimbasa city. Theres lots to do post game such as subway battles, the movie shit, Black city or White forest, and the PWT

That's not the original Crystal.
Crystal was the peak of the Pokemon franchise. Since then there were some interesting variations, but nothing truly innovative or mind-blowing.

Because it's an actual sequel. The game takes place two years after the first one with a whole new plot, and a bunch of other shit was introduced because of it, like characters actually ageing, Clay finally building the PWT, PokeStudios, etc.
Gen 5 was the first story driven mainline Pokemon game and instead of opting for a 3rd version, they make a sequel.

So far, the games in gen 4 did the least wrong.
