from the time I played persona 4 to the time p5 came out, I grew out of anime, so the writing and the tropes of this game irritated me to no end.

it was never going to be as good as 4 people were set up for disappointment from the start.

The main plot is honestly totally underwhelming.

I just want to fucking get on with my social linking and dungeon exploran but everytime the whole DUDE FUCK ADULTS shit gets in the way. Kamoshida sets the bar way too high in the beginning and most things after that often feels very forced. P3 and P4 had much better motivation for what you're doing.

The story sucked and the end of the game felt rushed. After years of waiting, you can't help but have expected something massive to happen at the end. Nothing does. It has such an underwhelming ending, and for a story-driven game, that's a sin.

Gameplay wise it was a massive improvement though and I loved some of the characters. It's just a shame they never seemed to get to interact as a group together much. Scenes like Futaba at the beach made it seem like it was going to go in that direction but after that nothing. It was just as though they were now friends and nothing else was needed. Haru is on another level of bad, so tacked on.

The story itself is good but the writing is fucked due to the calendar system. The gameplay is improved but I think it just lowers the whole level of challenge with confidant bonuses. The characters are good for the most parts. I like the music and the whole comfortable atmosphere of a coffee restaurant in a rainy night.

Kamoshida's fight itself has a lot of credibility simply because you can tell that an ounce of care went into its overall design. Social sim stuff wasn't as good as 4's, and I didn't like the main cast quite as much either (although they're close). But the side characters/confidants were much better than 4's, as was all of the dungeon related stuff (including combat). Adachi was what the entire murder mystery of P4 revolved around. In terms of P4, Goro is essentially Namatame, while Adachi and Shido fill pretty much the same role. where at the climax of the story the cast is trying to piece together the solution to a mystery that they've been pursuing for the good part of a year, have gone around in circles investigating everything they could and are at wit's end. And at that climax the huge breakthrough is handled so poorly that the evidence doesn't even magically fall into their hands or anything typical to absolutely shit writing, they sit there and collectively go "oh, come to think of it", not once, not twice, but about five fucking times as they REMEMBER evidence about someone they didn't bother to look into at all that hasn't come up once in the entire story, that they're recalling from months and months ago just because your self insert picked a name at random. - Shadows can plead for their lives if you bring their HP down without killing them, it works even better on Shadows with certain personnalities

He wanted to get into the Shadow World anyway and you just accelerated his plan that's when they realize he's the culprit. As for the rest, it's not unrealistic for someone's memory to be jogged by things that relate to the memory and the reasons the main character chooses Adachi's name are sound. Also it only happens twice and the Naoto thing is justified in that everyone else heard Adachi say the same thing about "throwing people inside TVs" and she brushed it off at the time, but that in addition to everything else made her more suspicious. The Yukiko thing is also justifiable because she had no reason to suspect Adachi until Protag and Naoto brought it up.
