I'll admit to being one of the people who hated KH2 at first. KH2 was the most hyped I've ever been for a game in my life, so there was just no way it could ever meet my expectations. In hindsight, it is far and away the best gameplay in the series, and it is genuinely an amazing ARPG.

I liked BBS and DDD a lot when they first came out, but I've cooled on them significantly since. 0.2 was alright, so I have moderate hopes for KH3, but after FFXV I'm not letting myself get too invested in any new Square game for a while.

Something new in a new trailer? And KH2 had 11 worlds (ignoring that piece of shit Atlantica). They could have shown a new work each year from the time they first announced development in 2013, all the way up to the game's release in 2021, and still keep 3 worlds completely secret, and that's if all they do is match KH2.

Xemnas is a lying s***head, the Nobodies had hearts. He was just trying to get 12 other bodies for his true self, Master Xehanort, to use as dark vessels. This is because, as it turns out, having one light and one darkness of equal strength cannot result in MX's want for the x-blade and Kingdom Hearts. Instead, 13 darknesses have to fight 7 lights, or merge with the 7 PoHs. Meanwhile, Sora and Riku take their MArk of Mastery exam simultaneously with a quest to teach them the right way to wield the keyblade and awaken a power inside them: the power to wake others. MX can see anyone who has an X on their body or clothes though, so he leads Sora into a trap in an attempt to make Sora one of these 13 dark vessels. Sora only failed for nomura plot reasons though, and will likely be retested in kh3

See, understanding WHAT is going on is not really hard.

The HOW is complicated but if you are only interested in the main plot and that should not really concern you.

DDD is the most complicated game in the series story wise for many reasons and as you can see even that game can be easy to explain to someone who has played the rest of the games and has a basic understanding on who is who and their motives.

You don't have to analyse or understand time travel to follow the plot.

I think we're gonna get that sort of play we got with 0.2, only expanded for options. We saw a cast of Magnet, and given the effects of Blizzard in 0.2, situational magic could be environmentally impactful. The Shotlock system could be good for impactful special abilities like Ragnarok and Ars Arcanum, as in skill tweaks the usability. Limit attacks are always welcome, and the summons seem to be rides of sorts. I could see drive forms opening new angles for flowmotion ability with the ability commands. Maybe they make you run on crazier surfaces or fly again. And command styles could compliment the playstyle if like in 0.2 certain styles of play unlock them at your command.

I haven't seen any mechanical redfalgs so far, save flashiness maybe being just reaction commands. What IS worrying is the continuation of just showing Olympus, and while it looks polished, that and one corner of twilight town and a grove in Tangled world does not a video game make. And they know it, or they wouldn't say 'look here's a new world (and a new trailer)' implying the two could be mutually exclusive. Gameplay seems mostly prepared, now we need to see story development.

It looks like it has the same physics as 0.2, which is expected. People were holding out too much hope thinking 0.2 was only similar to BBS because of Aqua.
0.2 was still fun so this will be fun, but it's never gonna be the KH2 gameplay experience again and it's time for me to accept it.

That actually is the reason why I'd never touch this stuff.
I loved Castle of Illusions and its remake. I'd have no trouble playing that in front of anybody because it's a nicely designed game with great visuals.
