Some enemies with high res (Niles, Linde, etc) can survive a hit even from a +atk cav-boosted Cecilia. I would know.

With quick riposte, you can put her in range of blue mages and colorless units and 100% guarantee their demise. Plus, she can use it more than once since everything besides strong bow users will do 0 fucking damage. I've been using it to solo maps in Tempest.

Armor units are still used to help contribute good toward BST, but since you want to avoid taking damage in the first place in the higher tiers, WoM loses a lot of a value and is only used on support units like Azura. Vantage is used on Hector because if you try to chip him to get him out of QR range, then he's now in Vantage range and you've made your situation much worse if you don't have a Sword unit on you.

Effie is probably the only unit that merits caution because of Wary Fighter, and there's a chance that even Reinhardt fails to ORKO her. Hector is just too easy -- which is why some people get taken by surprise by WoM kills, I bet.

Reinhardt might be able to kill Hector from turn 1 if he runs Moonbow/QP, but if you run into a team with him on it, is he honestly a big priority? Unless he's running something obtuse like Wings of Mercy, he's not going to go anywhere, so you can leave him for later or let another team member deal with him. Reinhardt should be used to quickly assassinate the bigger threats on the enemy team (like other Reinhardts, who die regardless of Moonbow), and Hector certainly isn't a big one if your team is set up properly.

Nino might or might not be a big threat depending on the team she comes with, but there's an obvious upside in killing her and removing one of Rein's bigger counters before she gets going. Unlike Hector, she can move two spaces and has 2 range, so obviously she's a bigger threat than him. There's more merit to prioritizing her on any given team than Hector is what I'm trying to say.

If my cav team consists of Ursula, Camus, Cecilia, and Xander, who should get Hone and Fortify? Camus has Goad and Ursula has Fortify already. Cecilia already has Fortify but she has a lot of SP so I can always give her new skills. The 2 Mage cakes are running blade Tomes and Camus has Fury Vantage while Xander has Distant Defense Quick Riposte.

I'd give Camus Fortify and Xander hone. Xander's playstyle revolves around quick riposte, so keeping his HP maxed is important. Camus has Fury and a more offensive stat spread, so he would benefit from hone more than Xander.

Camus can fit into some teams, but he's competing for a slot against literally the most powerful units in the game. Why run Camus when you can run Ursula, Reinhart, Linde or Bucina, etcetc.

I just feel like the concept of where you basically need to achieve perfect score the majority of the time just to get max rewards feels stupid. It basically means "our map challenges are gimmicks and therefore can be cheesed" instead of "well the maps are gonna be challenging, so we don't expect you to win every time, but to compete against each other". That's two totally different approaches you know?

It's like sports comparing something like basketball to golf. In golf, while you do compete with others, you are ultimately just facing the golf course and at your own leisure. This is just me but I think they wanted it to be a bit repetitive to allow some consistency for shitters building teams. Just pulled a 5 star -ATK +DEF Boey, is this worth using? He hits 35 attack at 40, and that's slightly boosted by his tome, and he has decent skills by default. I just worry his attack is far too low. I was thinking of giving his unique skill to Xander maybe? Not sure how effective it would be.

Also, how do the owl tomes work anyways? I'm guessing the formula is +1 for one ally nearby, +2 for 2, and them +4 for 3? It says doubles, which is why I was thinking it'd be +4 for 3.

I disagree that colorless needs another weapon class. There's plenty of room within the current colorless classes for more variety. Few of the range and movement options have been utilized yet. There can be more colorless-exclusive weapon bonuses too; like the Poison Dagger, a beastbane dagger that doubles damage to mounted and beast units is a possibility. Archers already have their flier damage bonus which would extend to Bird Laguz in the flying movement class.

It'd be hard to distribute the Spurs since you'll need both -owl users right next to each other, one -owl user attacks, the 2 other members move adjacent to the other, and then your second -owl user attacks, really hampering your range if you intend to stack every single one, and Hones/Fortifys + Rallies do a better job of distributing buffs with dedicated buffbots like Eirika, Ephraim, or Cordelia's Rally Atk/Spd.
Mae on her own as a Desperation mage sounds great, she doesn't need her husband.

Julia's just as slow as Boey, but has more Atk and Res, and is the best counter to Reinhardt; easily better than Boey.

How do you guys with high scores cope with the sheer boredom of running TT?

I have like 80 stam pots and easily farm, but I get super bored after like 2 runs and have to stop. This event is seriously the most un-fun I've had in this game yet.

Either way to answer your question Takumi was one of the most powerful units pre-SI because of close counter + good stats. Currently he's not terrible if you give him a brave bow, but there are better archers, and much better colourless units.
