They fucked up massively with FFXV by not delivering what fans of the series and the action game genre wanted. They could still save themselves if they take FF7 very seriously but i highly doubt it. The problem is their focus on the casual market and the removal of depth from gameplay.
They have been doing this for like 4 FF games and I see no reason why they learned their lesson now.

It was first FF i enjoyed since ff10.

It's not Square golden years - those will never come back - just accept it.

But they really made if fun. And i loved all the easter eggs from earlier games.
