Geralt was trying to clear his name. As much as I liked Iorveth and his route, it doesn't make sense that Geralt would take a roundabout way to his goal than the straightest line

I followed Roche and even put the princess on the throne because I thought my choices would matter.

You know in hindsight the Iorveth/Roche split was pretty damn ballsy. You dont see other AAA devs lockout massive swathes of content behind second playthroughs nowadays.
