It probably has the most anti-climatic ending of any zelda. The last 30 minutes of the game, pure disappointment.

in BOTW it's even worse because the game doesn't have any pacing because it can be played in whatever order, so the ending is anticlamactic as fuck

most people that play games don't ever finish them. Not even game journalists beat games before reviewing them. That's why unfinished games like MGSV or FFXV have such high metascores.

If you want something to have a good ending, you need to decide how what you're writing ends first and then work your way back from there. Unfortunately, very few authors do this worth anything.

If Nintendo had scrapped Skyward Sword, recycled the dungeons and the story into BotW, it would have become the first game to get straight 100s.
