None of you are right. By the new Chronicles lore, Dreadlords (and all demons and fel and the Twisting nether itself) is a CHAOTIC mix of Light and Void. Chaos is a now key word and essentially an element. "Demons" in the Warcraft lore arent incompatible with "holy" anymore, if anything, it makes sense for a few to exist.

Usually, the void takes precedence and dominates, so a dreadlord is evil, but making a holy dreadlord or demon isnt impossible, you just have to push the right buttons. In that NPC particular case, i think it is some convoluted storyline about a dreadlord somehow being possessed by the soul of a rightous paladin.
