Hah, Windows has always been a piece of bloatware shit. Back in the day you'd see games that needed 8 megs to run in DOS but 32 to run in Windows and newer versions have only gotten worse since then.

I just picked a random semi-old game out of my Steam library. It's the first Dead Space. The store page lists only Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista under supported operating systems, but I played it on Windows 7.
