I've been into euro/franco belgian comics for awhile and when I read Blacksad it didn't come off as furry. The whole anthropomorphism theme came seemed more of a platform for character expression and allusion to certain races/cultures. It's like Sly Cooper but with more murder.

Not to say an author or work can control its audience. Who knows what'll happen if it gets more popular with a English game release.
