Going with generic sci-fi or post-apocalyptic open world garbage is just as bad as doing an annual release of the same old shit.

I was hoping they would go with an urban fantasy setting, like with Hellblazer, Neverwhere, World of Darkness, Dresden Files or the Secret World. Anthem looks like they talked to a focus group and brainstormed all the current trends.

The mechs look like Titanfall, the environment looks like Crysis meets Horizon, and the monsters look like they were Evolve. The info about it mentions it being an MMO-lite like Destiny, so we all know it's going to have zero fucking content, then slowly drip-fed over the course of a few years.
