My girlfriend just bought me this game out of the blue and wants me to play it with her. I've never played a game like this before. I almost played Path of Exile once, but after I installed it on Steam I never even launched it.

Reaper solved all the original D3's bullshit, only problem now is that it lacks a rewarding gameplay loop once you reach level-cap/paragon level 200 or so. (probs around 100 hours invested or so) Up until then, it's gold, great production levels, engaging story, great multiplayer, no real money auction house, regeared gear and drop rates, you'll love it. Play on hard.
