Bonus points for combing it with Gravity Star so you can pull them out of cover and hose them down good. Also great for grunt farming. Holopilot is SEVERELY underrated. Did you know you can activate it while dash sliding and it will fire off a clone of you doing the exact same thing? I wish I had a recording of it, but I did it twice in a row yesterday where I sent a sliding clone shooting out of a doorway and it distracted an enemy long enough for me to get the upperhand. Holopilot is the next meme loadout too, since it's the next special execution that Respawn are releasing. Get in on it now before it's "uncool".

The other thing with HoloStar is that you can just throw an incredible amount of visual bullshit towards the enemy at once. Have you ever been downrange of an L-Star spraying full auto? It's just a blinding spray of red nonsense. Phase shift can be used offensively and defensively:
- OFF: requires you to know where the enemy is without them knowing where you are. Basically Phase shift before they notice you, then melee or 1 shot them (EX: Phase shift around a corner then turn around and shoot)

It's been awhile since I've played so I can't tell you what my exact Ronin loadout was aside from Nuclear Ejection.

Don't play Elimination for starters, it encourages corner camping Tone gameplay. Play dynamic game modes like Bounty that require constant movement, then use your superior Ronin speed to flank around and get the jump on them.

Burn your first four shots, then phase to another side of your opponent or a better position, you can reload while phasing so you should come out with another full Leadwall, unload the next 4 and they should be in execute range.

Then get the fuck out, chase some one down or detonate in the middle of your enemies.

I remember now I took the double Blade Wave. Sometimes your opponents will still be out of execute range after your combo, 2 blade waves is usually enough to bring them down. Bladewave and swordblock are also excellent in facilitating an escape.

It also let's you add some ranged harass if you absolutely can't find a way in. Not to mention many times you can hit multiple enemies due to the hallway style of a lot of maps.

You'll either want the skill that gives you more shields with the amp or the one that lets you steal batteries and gives you core charge at a faster rate. I recommend the second one.

Consider carrying the titan battery perk in non LTS and Titan Brawl gamemodes; you'll start with shields, 50% core charge (if you equipped overcore) and be significantly more survivable.
Monarch needs to build up that core to be effective, so back off, sap shields and fling rockets at anything unfriendly. Play slow at first. Treat a freshly dropped monarch like a scorch with 1% health.
Get a feel for all of the perks, generally arc rounds/maelstrom/upgraded chassis is the most effective combo, but the extra missiles can be fun to murder grunts with on attrition.

The rearm and reload skill (Triangle on PS4, Y on Xbox, whatever on PC) instantly refills your missiles, amp and dash. So dash out, fire amp and missiles, use rearm and reload, dash back into cover. Fart out some electric smoke if you're retreating.

Be wary of scorch and ion. Monarch players will tell you to avoid Legion and Ronin, and they're right, but scorch can really fuck up your day if he gets spacing over you, and ion can outrange you like crazy if you're too aggressive.

On the subject of phase shift I really think that ability needs to be toned down to just a single shift with a longer cooldown, it really disrupts the flow of the game and having to wait 6+ seconds to finish a kill gets old pretty fast.

The Kraber is the underpowered and respectable alternative. I know the double take is tempting (trust me, I know) but that double barreled slut has some irritating kinks that need to be worked out, so AVOID. There's a dedicated semi-auto sniper that is nice and balanced and not half as LOUD, so check your options, boi

If you like playing at range, try the precision pistol (the second one in menu, I think) and the wingman elite. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

It's weird, I really don't enjoy CoD-like games, and when I played the beta for this game I actually fucking hated it, and thought they ruined what I did like about TF1.

Then there was a free weekend and something just clicked for me. I think I started using the L-Star and really got good with the grapple, and suddenly I felt like a gun-toting Spider-Man. Honestly, Titanfall 1 has a much stronger and consistent design of just about everything but it came during the peak of brown and bloom so the colors in the game in general are very washed out and gray.
TF2 is more of a mishmash of completely random shit but the colors are nice and vibrant, definitely a strong point.

Very little was changed from the Beta.
The only thing that changed from Beta was that wallrunning used to instantly throttle your speed to 30KPH the moment you touched a wall, dramatically reducing your top speed to about 42KPH from a jump.
Now wallrunning lets you keep most of your speed on impact and slows you down gradually, meaning rapid jumping is the name of the game, stay on the wall as short as possible to maintain your air speed.

The Beta only lasted a weekend, had one of the least wallrun-friendly maps, and lacked most of the tactical abilities, that made it feel a lot less "fast" friendly. In addition, few players realized the potential of slide-bunny hopping, especailly since it was also console only and crouching by default was in a crappy place in the control scheme (now even consoles have fully mappable buttons instead of a few fixed control shcemes after an update).
