Did you enjoy Alien isolation /v/?

Oh boy, I absolutely loved it and it has become one of my favorite games of all time!

Played it about 5 times on hard and 2 times on nightmare. I should do another nightmare run. I also wanted to try a no-death-run.

Yes its the only game in the entire sphere of Alien franchise vidya that actually understood its source material. While every aliens focused game devolves into a stupid shoot em up (the antithesis of the emasculating vietnam allegory), Isolation gets Alien right.

I rewatched the Alien movies lately and watched some streams of the game and the attention to detail is amazing. The use of the films music and all the designs straight out of the movie is just mind blowing.

I remember though that the game was like 5h to long. It dragged on at end.

But still it feels like people who really loved the first movie worked on that game.

It was genuinely quite good. But it was quite one-note, it really needed something in the second act to change things up.

I really loved it but holy fuck did the last third of the game ruin it. This shit felt like it was outsorced to pajeets just so that they could release it in time. It turned from a great horror game into a shitty, annoying QTE fest.

I thought so too, there's a bit of a slog in the middle where you're just going back and forth from place to place, sometimes along corridors you've seen already, and every objective is "fix the _" "replace the broken _" "turn on the _" which basically reduces down to go somewhere, press X, come back, repeat.

Once you get to the section where you're realigning the communications array on the outside of the ship it gets a bit more interesting and you can see they took inspiration from the films there too, I just wish the middle third of the game was a bit more diverse.

Still an excellent game though. I only ever played in the dark with headphones and the sound design is incredible.

Everything up until initially finding the alien hive and overloading the reactor thing. After that the game felt like a pile of leftover bullshit thrown together for padding purposes and I couldn't be bothered finishing it.

I got so far as to the game making me hide in a closet the 2nd time and I was done with it forever as I felt I had allready experienced everything there was to offer.

I walked down some hallways, saw some sci fi shit, saw the ayylmao, got a little spooked with it booping on the radar, I hid and then I did it all again a second time.

Overrated as fuck game.
