I'm serious. I played it for a few sessions around White Orchard killing shit, closing monster dens and doing some side quests, and just wasn't impressed. Combat looked incredibly silly and was way too easy (It's basically Two Worlds combat). And although I found Geralt interesting and the story fairly interesting, frankly I'm just spoiled on character creation.

I broke all my shit killing a level 7 wraith thing and couldn't afford to fix any of it 'cause it was like 100g. So I just quit playing rather than lose the 5 or so hours I'd put into it already.

Since combat and character creation are basically the two things I appreciate most in a game (I'm a Soulsfag incidentally) I just couldn't get into it. Would love to read the books, though.

This. Without having a narrative the game does well of having you discovering the story on your own terms and each level you discover is always a suprising journey. Gameplay is also fun and fast paced

Literally filled with people hating witcher cuz meme. Some give legit reasons. The game was fun, I personally like it since I played witcher 1 when it came out. I followed the journey, books included. So at the end of witcher 3 blood and wine, I felt satisfied for once with an ending. People will prob shit on me, call me shill etc but game was fun, has it's flaws but if your willing to look past it, it's a fun experience.

Ye it's pretty fun. Combat can be a bit full but exploration in the pretty environment is lovely.

Turn off all unnecessary HUD elements like minimap, quest objectives or at least the GPS navigation for a better experience.

It's okay. The things it does are neat, but it gets old very quickly. The game play itself is very easy, more so if you have the DLC, and the story just kind of meander all over the place. The characters are all super special people who are always in the center of attention and always right, and the story itself is kind of self contained with no real major decision carrying over in any tangible way. It's good if you haven't had a solid CRPG in a while, but overall, it's highly overarted.

I've got Witcher 1 and 2 but couldn't get into them (could be because I was getting into Mount and Blade while trying them)
But now I've started playing Witcher 3 and I'm getting into it, is it worth going back and playing 1 and 2 before continuing?

Have signs been nerfed to hell? Made a build using griffin armor and cant kill shit even when speced to magic.

Absolutely. People hate on the combat because it doesn't change much throughout your playthrough and the game has an assload of content. I think some site has an average playthrough approximated at around 100 hours. Pirate then buy if you like it. If you like it then pace yourself otherwise you'll be 40 hours sunk and burnt out with 1/3 of the game finished. Witcher 3 is like getting to play out the world you might imagine when reading a good fairy tale.
