A lot of people will probably shit on you for including RE games post-4 but honestly, those games were god-tier as third-person shooters, aside from 6's awful campaigns, although even that made up for them with its Mercs mode. Still some of my favorite gameplay in any TPS. I miss the way those games had that great intermix between shooting and deep melee, and how combat felt more 'concrete' and less 'abstract' with how your character would actually react to damage and stuff. They really should bring that sort of gameplay back in a new IP or something.

It's a shame handhelds are pretty much dying, unless you count the Switch. 3DS got a few games that really felt like handheld home console games, including Revelations. I put a decent amount of time into that game, like 50 hours or so, mostly doing Raid Mode. At one point, I was actually pretty damn good. I managed to beat every stage on Abyss mode and iirc, managed to S-rank every stage on every difficulty too. Used to play the last stage over and over again just for fun. That game was probably the best post-4, pre-7 RE game. Had a lot of fun with it. The sequel was quite good too.

I haven't played 7 yet except for the demo, which I didn't care for but surprisingly, the reception has generally been good, so we'll see whether or not I care for it. Regardless, it really is a shame that we might not ever see a game like those again.

I wouldn't say that, since I still love my girl Ada, but Jessica Sherawat was very entertaining and she definitely needs to come back. Doesn't hurt that she was voiced by my voice acting waifu Ali Hillis either.

I'm still working on Raid mode so I can get the double shot for unholy abomination magnum. It took me so many fucking tries to beat the final boss in story I gave up and only recently played it last Halloween then beat it. New game plus on abyss for that fucker is going to suck when I get to him.

I never understood why so many people thought the final boss was so hard. I'm not particularly amazing at video games but I was able to more or less understand his patterns and avoid his attacks after my first few tries. He's really not that bad. At one point, I was even consistently dodging his attacks.

I was having so much fun with Raid Mode, I neglected the campaign for awhile. I was trying to beat the game on Hell mode and unlock the Infinite Rocket Launcher at the same time, but that shit was too hard, so I'm probably just going to go back and try to beat it normally, then unlock it by breezing through it on easy or something.
