It's another controller / gamepad thread.

What's the best one you've ever used? This is the one for me. I still can't believe how good it is. Best quality ever.

xbox360 is mine. Xbone improved in some aspects but overall seems over-designed and a step down.

It's a real close call for me. Xbone and switch pro sit so differently in the hands it's hard to compare. I think that I give the bone the slight edge due to material quality and ease of use across multiple systems
>>
Been using an 8bitdo FC30Pro for my laptop and a DS4 for my PC.

The FCpro is great to hold but there's a new firmware update every other week so it's a little annoying to use.

Objectively wrong. There is nothing about the 360 controller which is better than the xbone s controller

Either the Wii U Pro/Xbone/Switch Pro

God the DualShock 4 is so bad.
>>
>Wii u pro controller with bluetooth adapter
>god tier controller with 80 hour battery life that works on xinput or dinput

Love this thing.

xbox 360 and gamecube are a close second

Nintendo is trying to become gamings apple this generation.
>Measurably not worth the money and nothing special
>M-muh build quality

>20 dollars more than the WiiU pro controller, or any controller for that matter
>Only new features over the WiiU pro are:
>Gyro, which the DS4 and Steam Controller have for 50
>HD Rumble, which the Steam controller at the very least has for 50
>An amiibo reader, and if that's the reason they are 20 extra dollars why the hell are they shoving them into every single fucking controller?
You also are paying for a 70 dollar Nintendo controller that doesn't have a Nintendo style DPAD. Which is like 50% of why their controllers are so good.

This is the "plebeian and proud" controller of choice.

Since people are talking about peripherals I've been wondering what a good beginner arcade stick for Tekken 7 (ps4) would be? I don't want to pay out the arsehole for one but I don't want to goet a shoddy one either. I'm not getting one of these because I think that it will make me a better player, I only want one because I've played on a few arcades when I was younger and thought they felt a lot more fun because of it.

I'm also considering getting a Hitbox because I'm naturally pretty fast with my fingers on a keyboard and that doesn't look like it'll be too different.

And on topic I really like the Wii U pro controller for PC. No analogue triggers mean its shit for racing but I vastly prefer that for everything else. The controller is light as hell but the buttons and sticks feel great and the battery life will last through most JRPGs even. The DS4 is also a good controller from Sony but I think I prefer the DS2, the triggers just feel a bit touchy.
>>
>>379668349
>What's the best one you've ever used
DS2. Every button on that motherfucker was analog.

I'm realizing now that I've never actually looked up close at this controller before
>ABXYWhiteBlack
>Weird oval shape to the buttons
>That bizarre start and select position to accommodate that ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE xbox console button (at least I think it's a button)
>What appears to be two different kinds of analog sticks on the same controller
>That dpad
>THAT FUCKING DPAD
What is that thing? I genuinely cannot make sense of these design decisions.
>>
Definitely the Wii U Pro.
I feel like it's the best all-around controller that you can get. I use it for guilty gear, DS, Vanquish, 2D platformers... Pretty much every game works nicely with it (except maybe for racing games).
>>
>>379671818
You don't want to know, anon. Playing Ninja Gaiden on that thing was pure hell.
>>
>>379671428
This one was good but the xbone controller was still better
>>
>>379671818
It's not a button.
>>
>>379671818
Kek. It's not a button, just empty real estate. It's definitely a fucked up design, but the size and weight were so good. I wish I could get some weightier controllers these days.
>>
Bumpers are fucking cheap on the xbone, probably the only thing bad about the controller aside from no 80 hr chargeable battery

I'll never understand the la la land fantasy on 4chan that the original xbox controller was anything more than an enormous piece of shit that was replaced mid cycle by this much better iteration that would become to father of the 360 and xb1 controller.

I think it's some kind of deep seated contrarianism as well as "I'm pretending to be le old fag and liking le oldfag things"

>It's not a button
>IT"S NOT A FUCKING BUTTON
The design of the controller honestly makes it look like at one point it was a semi normal controller and then someone decided it needed a logo approximately taking up 1/6th of the controller and everything needed to be shifted around because the general shape had already been decided upon.

What the actual fuck.
>>
>>379672526
>>379672509
Not him, but I honestly preferred the placement of White and Black on the Duke rather than the replacement. They were just too easy to hit while trying to hit other buttons on the replacement.

I had this conversation with a friend. Basically

Xbone for games where the second stick is not important (adventure games, some RPGs where camera control is not prevalent)
DS4/3 for everything else because the parallel sticks feel fine to use.

Anyone else feels this way? I have been using the DS3 with emulated Snes and Witcher 2, Xbone for Tales of Symphonia.

They had like five and a half generations of video gaming to pull from and they managed to fuck up the start and select placement EVEN WORSE on the remodel?

Also what the fuck are the white and black buttons even supposed to be? Just like a Sega Genesis 6 face button kinda deal?
>>
>>379672680
Offset stick feel more natural in my hands but if I can get away with it I'm using my steam controller to play any controller based games.
>>

nice, I also like xbone controllers

where did you get the switch faceplate for it?

>>379672785
Most games didn't actually use them. Halo used them for grenade switch and something else I can't remember.

the xbone controller feels small and inverted after using the Pro controller, other than that it's basically the same thing

PS2. But the other companies need to figure out the wizardry behind the WiiU pro controller's 40 hour battery life.

U wot, M8? It's part of the controller itself.
>>
>>379673108

The "wizardry" is that it was running on the same battery that the 3DS does, but that battery lasts a lot longer when all you have to be is a controller instead of a handheld system.
>>
>>379672785
They had variable in-game uses. I remember that it displayed the screen on Ninja Gaiden and I think this anon >>379672969 is right

Exactly like that actually, it was their direct inspiration.
>>
>>379672509
I liked the size and feel of the duke. Over the S, I prefer the Start, Back, Black, and White button placement more. I never got used to using the S even though I had a few, including a super tiny Mad Katz one.

Chalk it up to edgy contrarian maymay if you like.
>>
My DS3 is connecting and locking last input 2-3 minutes into play until unplugged and replugged back in.

What's a decent wired controller I can plug into PC that just werks and is under 50$
>>
>>379669279
Can you timestamp a photo of your pro controller?

Thanks in a advance.
>>
>>379674192
If you like the DS3, use a DS4 with the cable attached

Alternatively get a Power A PS3 controller, it has great reviews on
