Started playing New Leaf like a week ago.
Why do people love Isabelle so much? She doesn't do shit and stays in the office all day.

She has a cute personality and nice design. People grew to like her because her role in the little tutorial made her seem like a more developed character than previous AC characters.

But you're right, she got ignored after the tutorial. Which is one of the many reasons New Leaf screwed up. And Nintendo is trying to make up for it by putting Isabelle in a ton of new stuff and make her own spin offs.
