I agree with you that Earthbound has some great feel good moments. I particularly like finding the sanctuary points, they can be very relaxing. It does have some bullshit, though. The mushrooms that fuck with your controls can be one of the most frustrating things for a new player to experience.

I played about the first thirty minutes of it and stopped playing.


I couldn't get into it. Feels bad. I'm a big of Nintendo fan as they come. So it sucks when I don't like Nintendo games. I probably should give it more of a chance.

Same thing happened to me. I only continued playing it when I emulated it on my phone while filling up free time during my schedule when I was in school. Three hours of progress every week made going through the game a lot more beareable.
