Is this shit Dualshock compatible?
for original ps1 game, no not at all
ps1 classic on ps3, only movement works with left stick. right does nothing
emulated on pc, yes but you have to map shit out and it can be jank as shit. the movement isn't proper analog movement
>>379629620
Worked on mine, I don't know what >>379630209 is talking about. It felt pretty analog, even though you can't walk like you do in Crash.
Sadly yeah, you only move with the left analog, but you can map L2 and R2 to the right on emulators.
>>379631765
are you using an emulator? which one?
I tried mapping the analog but it doesn't recognize diagonal inputs.
>>379629620
I seem to remember that it is.... but I could be wrong
i find active camera mode to work fine

>It felt pretty analog, even though you can't walk like you do in Crash.
then that's not proper analog movement
exactly what I said
the only version with proper movement is the psone classic on ps3

I think you need Lilypad, which would force you to use PCSXR, you could also try RetroArch/Mednafen. At worst you could force them with Joy2Key.
>>379632940
It may not be proper analog, but I definitely ave more than 8 directions, that's what I'm getting at. Both my PS1 disc and PS3 classic literally operate the same way as far as analog control is concerned. Fuck off with your knowitall attitude.
But anon, PS1 games are beat when played with d-pad.

*best
>>379629620
Yes.
>>379634124
>Both my PS1 disc and PS3 classic literally operate the same way
just say you never played the psn version, no need to shit post
>>379635980
Why would I lie? On top of that PSN version is the black label with the beta music so if anything it should be less advanced than any hypotetical rerelease. You might just be remembering Spyro 2, the first entry where you actually could walk.
>>379634124
I'm using pcsxr pxgp or something, configured lillypad and still only thinks it's the dpad.
>>379634194
not 3d platformers for sure.
so it has ninja gaiden auto-camera?
i've only ever played YotD and was planning to go back and beat the trilogy this summer, but fuck this isn't a good start
>>379637372
You use the shoulder buttons to move the camera.
>>379637372
2 and 3 have the L1 and R1 buttons to center camera, or you can set camera to active so it moves automatically (manual camera is also faster this way)
>>379637017
>still only thinks it's the dpad.
Is there an analog enable function? Map it to some random key. Most games don't default on analog and you have to manually activate it (the red light on DS).
>>379639312
havent used it in a year but i am pretty sure it was something like F5 in epsxe, hit it when you are in game with the window open and it enables analog control.
>>379638421
but what about 1?
>>379639636
On 1 it's L2 and R2, L1 and R1 are instead used for dodging, a (pretty useful) mechanic which disappeared in 2 (early demos still had it, amazingly).
It was probably scrapped because pressing all the shoulder buttons in 2 enables the "sparx points at nearest gem" cheat, which some kiddos apparently couldn't do without.

Gonna try that, I'm using a ps3 controller so i thought analog mode is on all the time.
