I'm involved with preparation's Bethesda's upcoming E3 show.

TES VI will be a no-show, but Beth will be releasing Oblivion Remastered this fall. Todd will be on-stage to present, its more or less Oblivion ported/remade with Skyrim assets. Dunno if it'll have mod support for consoles.

Nobody ever wanted Skyblivion/Skywind/Morroblivion/etc. They're all retarded fan projects that'll never get finished.

>>379592013
Oblivion is perfectly playable with mods (as perfect as Beth games can go anyway), and Bethesda have repeatedly stated that it'd be too much effort to remaster an older game which is why they went for Skyrim's remaster instead. They'd most likely remaster fucking Fallout 3 over Oblivion.
>>
The side quests are some of the best in the series

Shut the fuck up. Don’t even joke about that.

I really hope not just for the sakes of the skyblivion devs. Theyv'e been doing this shit for so long.

Will it have XInput controls on PC, or will you carry over your sorry excuse for DirectInput controls that some pajeet programmed at the last minute?
>>

this will not happen
they may have considered it but they definitely would have scrapped it once Skyblivions new dev team started making progress. Why the fuck spend time and money doing something that somebody else is doing for free?

Bevilex is based. I remember watching his older videos in awe and pestering him in the comments to give me the mod list and he wasn't responding. Then like a week or two later the dude whips out a complete detailed guide to his build out of the blue http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/47591/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhmXYotW41E
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uajw5slipvk
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYuc3kbyEHM

That's basically it for graphical overhaul. You just need to get http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/47177/ + http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/46508/ and Oblivion gets fully rejuvenated.

Indeed, none of that ''Skyblivion'' dorky stuff! I can only really enjoy authentic Bethesda™ products. It's just wrong when players start making their own okie doke and takes away from that Bethesda™ Elder Scrolls™ experience.
>>
>>379594891

Skyblivion will never release so Todd has nothing to worry about in the first place.
>>
Literally who the fuck would want that. Casual fans love Skyrim, core fans love Morrowind.

How would they ever decide people want Oblivion again? I loved Oblivion when it came out. It was the first game I played on a 360, thus, my first HD generation game in general. I will always have fond memories, but no one would want to experience those 4 voice actors over again. Or whatever that weird ass persuasion mini game was.
>>
>>379594667

>>
>>379596396

>Oblivion Remastered
On the very slim chance this is real why not remaster Daggerfall or Morrowind instead? Why are devs so fucking lazy?
>>
>>379592859
>Nobody ever wanted Skyblivion
Lol. Also the Skyblivion project is coming along better than any other recent TES remake project, including Skywind, plenty of support and dev streams
>>
>>379596742
>Daggerfall
How even?

>Morrowind
They're making it into an expansion for ESO. Remastering it would detract the players from their shitty MMO.

>inb4 zenimax isn't beth
Doesn't matter. They own them, they decide shit.
>>
>>379592013
God I hope so.

Oblivion is unironically my favourite and I will pay 40 for it
>>
>>379596742
a remaster of daggerfall wouldn't work, because its a shit game that needs to be completely remade. i would love to have a more quality > quantity daggerfall take but regardless of how big or small it would end up im not confident i would really enjoy a new elder scrolls game made today
>>
>>379596670
Sony's just worried about getting hacked again. As unlikely as it is, they might reconsider their decision once they start losing money, and more games follow Bethesda's example.

Modding on consoles has always been something that seemed impossible, but, the PS4, the XBone... They're not as good as computers, but the tech is there.
>>
Called it
>>
>>379592013
Why are Oblivifags even more delusional than Morrofriends? One group is content with the game they got, despite it being very aged never wanting it retouched or remade with modern graphics and the other group is Oblivifags who use buzzwords like comfy.

>>

What? Skyrim SE doesn't run worse than original Skyrim.
>>
>>379597095
i thought both morrowind and oblivion had controller support? at least im almost positive oblivion did, just like fallout 3/new vegas. you have to enable it in settings though. maybe openmw has controller support if morrowind didn't? also there are alternatives to xpadder, like for example antimicro which is worth a try

>>
>>379597225
Oblivion recognizes my controller but the right analog stick and triggers don't work. I'll pirate a copy of Controller Companion or compile antimicro or some shit, it's just an extra headache I didn't want after wading through shit to get all the mods to work.
>>
>>379597578

That has nothing to do with "running worse," you toasterfag.
>>
>>379597220
Skyrim and Skyrim SE doesn't really run with much difference. The latter is just a bit shinier.
>>
>>379592013
how about skyrim remastered with oblivion assets? tell todd i'd pay for that.
>>
>>379594391
no, only really tiny shitty mods
>>
>>379597865
what is your logic? if it runs worse how does it not run worse? im not saying a remake SHOULD run better, but special edition isn't a remake, they just threw a fucking filter on it and now it runs 5 times worse
>>
>>379592859
>Skyblivion/Skywind/Morroblivion
What are they even thinking with those? Oh, the game is stuck in a shitty engine, so let's remake it in another shitty engine!
>>
>>379596350
Skybabbies would eat up Oblivion if it had the level of "polish" and ease of understanding that Skyrim does
>>
>>379593185
and skyblivion will never be released
>>
ESO is the best elder scrolls, if we ignore the most recent patch.
>>
>>379598061

Why? Oblivion assets aren't even that good looking. It looks like plastic.
>>
>>379598658
eso is garbage and one of the worst mmos i've ever played
>>
>>379598670
better than skyrim's everything is covered in dirt, but we can't be arsed to used proper texture resolution, so it all looks like poo and ages worse.

oblivion's artstyle hasn't aged as poorly as skyrim's
>>
TES VI will be announced for 2018 release,

>oblivion's artstyle hasn't aged as poorly as skyrim's

Fucking lel. You can tell who played Oblivion when they were 12 with posts like these.
>>
>>379592013
I'd actually really like a Oblivion remastered so shit would be loaded 20 feet away from my character.
>>
>>379598948
nice "leak" fag. but you are wrong. ill give you a sneak peak. we will be remastering games that actually need remastering. taking inspiration from blizzard, we will release doom and quake as freeware while developing a backwards compatible client for each game engine with completely revamped graphics and a working server browser. weve also bought mighty no 9 license and plan on doing what we did with fallout franchise, taking shit and turning it into gold. finally we will tease our new game "skyrim in space" an openworld adventure
>>
>>379598902
I think you're remembering it with nostalgia goggles. I've played it recently and it looks no better than Skyrim's. At max setting unmodded, the color pallet is really flat with very little contrast and are shaders almost non-existent. Textures are nothing to admire as well. I guess for the time it was good, but everything looks like it was made from play-dough.
>>
>>379593279

If only someone could fix the shit animations
>>
>>379592013
It'd take a hell of a lot of work to make oblivion look good enough to rerelease on the new consoles.
also the fact that oblivion got remastered well before prequel got updated might make me cry

>>
>>379597578
That's mostly because of Nvidia's lighting middleware they replaced their own lighting engine with and because they expect players to be using mods, at the same quality settings (Disabling all Nvidia lighting tech) it looks and runs the same except on high and ultra because they used higher res (Upscaled and uncompressed for maximun half assedness) texture assets in SE.
>>
>>379592013
I'd gladly buy it, assuming it's not a complete mess.
>>
>>379592013
What is the point of this when you can make the game look and play better than Skyrim with mods?
>>
>>379601531
It would be worth it just for proper multicore support. Right now the game simply collapses at some point without it, and even before that it performs pitifully.

>Oblivion is perfectly playable with mods
It's unstable and unoptimized as fuck, only utilizes a single CPU core. It's playable, but do not lie to yourself that it's actually ideal in any way.

>>379593279
No it does not. It looks alright but it still doesn't even have functional dynamic shadows on objects that were cut from the E3 game. It'll never look and run better than fully modded Skyrim unless something like OpenMW or a full remaster is made for the game.
>>
>>379592013

>>379601723
Honestly if you mod correctly it's fine. I used to crash all the time but after I disabled better cities, removed the problem cells, and recreated the bash I only crash like once every few hours.

And this is with 80 mods installed
>>
>>379601981
I know what I'm doing, but I also have 3 times as many mods as that. The engine just shits itself as some point, there's no point denying it.
>>
>>379592013
Nah I don't believe it for a second because it's actually something some people want. Personally I've wanted to return to Oblivion for years but the sheer mess that mods are in for it just put me off completely. A remaster could bring modern assets to this old game, revitalize modding for it but that would take attention away from Skyrim and they certainly won't do that with the Switch version on the horizon.
>>
>>379601981
The fact remains that something as simple as making buildings visible from more than 100 feet away has an unreasonable effect on performance.
>>
>>379601723
So if Bethesda remasters Oblivion the new edition will be Bethesda quality rock solid stable and none of the current mods will work for it. How is this good?
>>
>>379602236
I don't know why you would need 240 mods to make Oblivion modern/fun, but whatever floats your boat.
