It was originally just a boss rush but everyone thought it was like metal slug when they unveiled it so Microsoft gave them a ton of money to add levels to the game.

What are some legit hard games? I have yet to play one. Video game are usually very easy when you starting to play a lot of them.

Cuphead is so hard that nobody can play it. People have a hard time wondering when it will ever come out.

Because making a really simple one is as easy as downloading one of the engines, slapping it into gamemaker, and placing tiles via drag and drop.
Probably at least half of them are borderline unplayable, maybe like 10% are good. There's at least a couple dozen that are outstanding games that are interesting and very well designed though, shit like Not Another Needle Game for example.
