Had a lot of potential, but the devs squandered it by bloating the game up with a ton of DLC instead of refining the base experience
Still worth playing for free, especially if you get the DLC unlocker

Pubs are filled with human garbage to the brim. BRs, Russians, the French, kids, you fucking name it, they gather around this pile of shit. What that means is that it's only worth playing with friends, but the insane grindy nature mixed with the mountain of DLC makes it a fucking boring chore. Just play the first one or play L4D2.

They've made a bunch of improvements to the game ever since the devs bought the rights back from the publisher. They're going to release a "complete" edition of the game in a few days and take out the eight million dlc packs on steam.

I dropped the game since summer last year and I had 1300 hours on it. Dev can't into balancing so there's only a few working weapons and everything else is irrelevant. Harder difficulty is just bullet sponge/titanium cannons. They promised no micro transactions and then blatantly break it 2 years later. The only redeeming quality is the modding community and even then they had enough of overkill's shits and quit altogether.
Also instead if making something new they ported this cow cash to switch, and you should know how they treated the console community

What? That's made them valuable since the DLC pack. 3 CAR 1 Thanatos was the go-to group composition. CARs have excellent ammo pools (and therefore pickups) and the 1 Thanatos could demolish skulldozers

The whole thing's a giant fucking mess honestly, I used to really enjoy it but such is no more.
The problem is mostly that they keep introducing new weapons/items that are objectively better than what was previously available, and balancing the game around it- meaning you're rerquired to buy every new """"dlc"""" to be able to really play the high difficulties

Also the devs are complete retards who don't understand their own engine, so every update's like 35GB even though they only added 160MB of new files
Real nuisance so I don't bother to have the game installed anymore at all

Redownloading the game every time there's an update is pretty much as fast as just patching it. Whenever there's a patch, the game unpacks every single asset archive onto the HDD, applies the patches and repacks everything. It doesn't unpack only the archive it needs to patch, it requires 40+ gigs of extra free space and more than 100 GB of host writes to apply the patch just because they couldn't figure out how to only patch the affected files.
