Portable mode is the most impressive because it's portable, but if you're home and in the room where the TV and dock is, you might as well play in TV mode.

VR mode. Everyone knows this idea was likely tested sometime in switch development. It'll be funny if the E3 was VR switch because other than resolution it makes a ton of sense.

I mainly play in console mode at home but when I bring it to work, I play handheld unless I have a coworker to bust out tabletop mode with.

Tabletop mode is nice for multiplayer on the go or without TV. Also for ARMS, I was watching Netflix and shitposting between matches, and still using based motion controls.

Portable because I don't have a TV and college internet forces me to play with the LAN adapter hooked up through a USB to USB-C adapter so I can't play online in tabletop mode.

What I do with my playstation is run an AUX cable from my monitor's output into my computer's mic jack, then go to recording devices and select "listen" on the line-in. It should relay all of the audio coming out of your monitor, through your PC and into your headphones. It's great for playing games on a console while watching netflix or youtube on your second monitor.
For this to work I assume;

>you have a second monitor to run the videos on
>the Switch uses an HDMI output which can be plugged into the monitor (if not HDMI then some other output which relays both visual and audio output to the monitor)

Just get a new tv? I'd recommend Vizio if you are in the United States and want good gaming tvs on a budget. I've gotten a 40 inch 1080p and a 50 inch 4k mayfly from em and there's no noticeable lag in game mode.
